Q:今回のフェス参加の感想と、EYEさんがNyege Nyege（もしくはシンゲリでもいいです）に感じている魅力について簡単なコメントを頂けないでしょうか？

EYE:『FESはハードでしたがその後がさらにハードでした。。。。(コロナで隔離された）ニェゲニェゲはラインナップとアフリカのジャングルというセットアップの魅力がまず一つあると思います。

好きなアーティストがたくさん出てて、でもほとんど見逃したんですが。。

また、アフリカのアップデートの潮流の1つを確実に代表しているのと、深層のほうに底の見えない流動性のダイナミクスがあって、覗き込みたくなるところ。 

それはマグマのような存在感で迫ってくるというか、深層の知性や共通言語として、分析できなくても、そこからはアクセスできそうで、ブードゥー性も含め遺産のような知覚の現代的な表出として特筆すべきものがあるのかなと、思いました。

それから、リリースも含めて、結果としてレペゼンされているものが AFRO PUNK なのかな、と思ってしまう所も魅力です。

会場ではライフルもったアーミーに手錠かけられてる人とかもいて、気が抜けないですが自分だけのことに限って言うと、フェスはすごく安心できたし、単純ですが会う人全員親切でエエ人ばっかしや〜という、印象でした。会話にはなってませんでしたが、人見知りの自分が人に話しかけまくってたので。。。コミニケーションしてると穏やかな気持ちになるというか。

またゴミが会場に撒き散らかされていましたが、ゴミや廃材と生命体とのあり方において、自分の中でミッシングファウンデーションやプッシーガロアとフルミジキが接続されてたり、

（対岸のボート乗り場DJブースのスクラップジャンク感覚を見た瞬間、ファインディング　ファウンデーションというか、いきなり安堵の帰結感がドッときました）

また、ブルータルトゥルースとDumaが自分のブルートゥースDUMA回線で繋がってたりするので、NYEGE NYEGEに勝手にアーリー90’Sのアメリカの音楽状況を見てしまうのも惹かれる要素かもしれません。

印象にのこっているシーンとしては

KΣITOさんが出現１発目にDJブースの上にあぐらかいてアマゾンを演奏した時。KΣITOさんを知るきっかけになった強烈なキラートラックで、アマゾンライダーは同時体験でテレビで観てて人格形成にも関与してたので気が付くと我を忘れて絶叫アーマーゾーン状態になってました。

それとトラベラのスーパースターともいえる人気ぶりやSISSO&MAIKOの独自性、マルセルの環境に委ねたようなチャンオペですが

（片方のターンテーブルを低音でフィードバックさせて繋ぐとか、多用している笑い声７インチを放置的に流して繋いでいくなど曲間の状況を操作から手放して偶然性や環境、オーディエンスに委ねるやり方）、

流動的すぎるタイムテーブルと体力的なこともあって、

メンジやジェイミッタ、オーセンティカリープラスチック、クエスチョンマーク、MP３、アフロラック、ソケットヘッド、オティム　アルファ、ASSAYOUTH　他、見たいアーティストがかなり見れなくて、

後半は結構フテ寝してました。

そのアーキタイプともいえる '00年代後半頃 からのジャグワ　ミュージック

(チャカチャを演奏していたグループから1992 年に派生、ムチリクと呼ばれるダルエスサラームのストリート ミュージックを演奏)

なんかは、一つのアフロパンクの表象として気になっていて、　彼らがやっていたムチリクにムタパと呼ばれるシンゲリのような速い盛り上がりセクションがあり歌詞の内容も彼らのストリートライフ（仕事は無免許タクシードライバー等）や当時あったアルビノの人への虐殺に反対したものや、抑圧への怒りを、

メガホンから出るディストーションカシオキーボードで、(カシオは昔のンゴマで使用されていたズマリ というオーボエ からの進化）延々ミニマリスト極まる５音音階ぶっぱなしの上に歌い続けるかんじで、

Voのジャッキーが入ってからは特にシンゲリ前身形態としても強烈なストリートミュージックになっていきましたが、（舞台でやるとそこ弱まる）残念ながらこのアフロパンクなシンガーは'18年にこの世を去ってしまった...R.I.P

そんなムチリクに加え、セグレ、ターラブなどが '10年以降、ストリートでさらに激しく混交し沸点オーバーの結果、爆誕して来たのがシンゲリだと言えそうです。

'17年にsounds of sisso が出た時はブッ飛ばされた人多かったのではないでしょうか。もうアレは　しょうがないというか。。

アレで頭がニェゲファイドされたというか。

一見変態的で突然変異なものに感じられますが、あくまで屈託がないのが、

ナチュラルに面白かったです。

ブレーキがどこにあるのかわからない車みたいで、

勝手にできてしまってる聴集上のアンカーや制度との接触事故を発生させてしまうというか逸脱させてくれるというか、、

いままできいてきた打ち込み、ダンスミュージックの概念で類型的にハンドリングできなかったし、ヘタしたらアフリカのガバ？と認識してしまうような誤読性もあったかと思います。

でも上物のフレーズはザンジバルのターラブの援用もあってアジア感や、

カラオケにしたらコブシ回せそうな親しみやすさがあると思います。

サハラ以南共通のベルパターンのアップデも感じられ、中央アフリカからさらに南米のリズムへリンクするような磁場として根っこの深いところ、ニェゲにしても

そこは求心力あって惹かれるところかと思います。

伝統音楽文化の再解釈、アップデートと同時に

自由に解釈してもいいし（タンザニア圏外での再、再再解釈やパーソナライズも積極的にと思うし）

でも、あくまで連続性や地面と密着した生活の中で息ずいている、

という説得力、ありますね。』

Q: Can you give us a brief comment on your participation in the FES and the attraction that EYE feels for Nyege Nyege (or Singeli, if you prefer)?

EYE: 'The FES was hard but afterwards was even harder 。。。。(isolated in covid)

I think Nyege Nyege  is one of the first things that attracted me to the line-up and the African jungle set-up.

There were a lot of my favourite artists on there, but I missed most of them.

Also, it definitely represents one of the currents of African updating, and there's a bottomless dynamics of fluidity in the deeper layers that you want to look into.

I thought that it was coming at you with a magmatic presence, or as a deep intelligence or a common language, and even if you can't analyse it, you can access it from there, and I wondered if it was noteworthy as a contemporary expression of heritage-like perception, including voodoo-ness.

I was also attracted by the fact that I wondered if AFRO PUNK is a result of being re-presented, including in releases.

There were people being handcuffed by army men with rifles at the festival, so you can't be too careful, but speaking only for myself, I felt very safe at the festival and, simply, I had the impression that everyone I met was very kind and nice. I didn't get into conversations, but as a shy person I was talking to people all the time. I felt calm when I was communicating with people.

Also, there was rubbish strewn around the venue, but I felt a connection between the Missing Foundation, Pussy Galore and Fulu Miziki in the way that rubbish and waste materials and life forms are connected.

(The moment I saw the sense of scrap junk in the boatyard DJ booth on the other side of the river, I suddenly felt a dreadful sense of relief return, like Finding Foundation).

Another element of attraction may be that Blutal Truth and Duma are connected by their own Bluetooth DUMA line, so I see the Early 90's American music situation in NYEGE NYEGE on its own.

The first time KΣITO played Japanease TV hero called Amazon Rider, which was the killer track that introduced me to KΣITO, and Amazon Rider, which I watched on TV at the same time and was involved in the formation of my personality, I forgot myself and screamed.. I was in an AaaMaaZoom zone.

Then there's ,Travella's awesom superstar popularity, SISSO & MAIKO's uniqueness, and  Marcelle's chance-operations that seem to have been left to the environment.

(the way they let go of manipulating the situation between songs and leave it to chance, the environment and the audience, such as connecting one turntable with bass feedback, or connecting them by 7 inches of laughter, left untouched by nature.).

The timetable was too fluid and physical.(it's ok)

I didn't get to see quite a few of the artists I wanted to see, including Menzi, Jaymitta, Authenticaly Plastic, Question mark, MP3, Afro-Rack, Sockethead, Otim Alpha, ASSAYOUTH and others.

I was pretty much huffing and puffing in the second half of the day...

Jagwa music from the late '00s, which can be described as its archetype.

(derived in 1992 from a group that played chakacha, a street music of Dar es Salaam called mchirik ).

The mchirik they were playing had a fast-tempo excite part, Singeli-like section called mtapa, and the lyrics were about their street life (working as unlicensed taxi drivers etc.), and their opposition to killing and slaughtering of albino people that was going on at the time, and their anger at the oppression of people. 

The lyrics were sung over a distorted Casio keyboard (the Casio evolved from the Zumari oboe used in the old Ngoma) that came out of a megaphone, over an endless stream of minimalist five-note scale blasts.

The band's vocalist Jackie joined the band, and it became a particularly strong form of street music, even as a precursor to Singeli, but unfortunately the Afro-punk singer passed away in '18....... .R.I.P.

In addition to such mchirik, Segre, Taarab and others have been mixing more intensely on the streets since '10, and it can be said that Singeli was born as a result of the boiling point being exceeded.maybe..

When sounds of sisso came out in '17, many people must have been blown away. I can't help it now.

It's like my head was nieghtfied /NYEGEFIED ! by it.

At first glance, it seems perverse and mutant, but the fact that it's so carefree is what makes it naturally interesting.

It's like a car that doesn't know where the brakes are.

It's like a weight on the collection that's built up on its own, or a stretch that causes you to come into contact with the system, or a stretch that makes you deviate from the system.

I couldn't handle it in a typological way with the concepts I had been listening to of dance music, and if it was bad,  I think there was also a misreadability that could have been recognised as 'African Gabber'.

But the phrasing of the top one was also supported by Zanzibar's Taarab, which gave the song an Asian feel and a sense of being a part of the world.

(The phrase of the top one, has an Asian feel and a familiarity that would make you spin the kobushi if it were karaoke.)

It is a reinterpretation and update of traditional music culture, and at the same timI also feel an update of the bell pattern common to sub-Saharan Africa, and the deep roots as a magnetic field that links Central Africa to South American rhythms, and even to Nyege Nyege.

I think that is also a centripetal force that attracts people.

along with re-interpretations and updates of traditional music culture.

It can be interpreted freely (and re, re-interpretation outside of Tanzania is positive, I think).

But I think it's a very compelling story of continuity, of living and breathing in close contact with the street, of being 'in touch with the ground'.

熱海市の地層(untitleとatamiの複合層)や岩盤から採掘されるウナタマイルという架空chemorg物質結晶のマイニングをイメージしています。chemorg(ケムオーグ）というのはケミカルとオーガニックの交差角察結果によるケモッグ指数値の状態を示します。類種のオーケ（OrCh)と異なる点は、ケモッグは表層有機性とケミカル内包であり、食品に例えると有機食品のパッケージが化学物質である場合に対し、逆層化しています。

ウナタマイル / UNATAMITLE

話を頂いた流れとして77Boadrumから繋がっていますが、

BOADRUMの集大成でもありません（←ドラムはArdrum以外ありません）。

荒川の両ロックゲートを側面、疎水を底面とした立方体への

サウンドインストールによる空間コンポジションです。

（両水門上にギタリスト　河対岸 東西南北４方位に200シンバラー　河中空にコンダクタ）

ツインドラムは向き合ってたり横並びに離れてたりですが、

荒川の型出しとしてのArdrum（ARakawadrum)

端的に言うと物理的な振動で直結された縦方向のトリプルドラムです。

荒川自体を大きなシンバル面を持ったドラムとして、その振動上に屋形船という振動する船としてのドラム、

その上にドラマーが媒介するArdrum、と３体がバーティカルなフォーメーションになる串ざしコンセプトです。

そのArdrumをゲートで迎え入れ200枚のシンバル共振との統合形態として祝祭的な成就をイメージしています。

なので最終はフォースドラムになるのですが、

これはシンバラー位置、東西南北4セクションに分けてのポジショニングとも関連しています。

ロックゲートに行って最初に感じたのは、

とんでもなく汚染されているということでした。

ARV100 というのはArakawaRiver 100周年の意味ですが、

RiverにReviveという意味も感じています。

これからも汚染しまくるけど、水害は困るのでヨロシク！

と言うことでは、やはりないと思う。

共時性や純度を伴った音共振は

不可視の情報に媒介できるものの一つだと思うので、

音に全委する無力性に希望はあるのでは。

何か大掛かりな凄い事？やろう、

人間のためのエンタメ、というのではなく、

空間に耳があるならそのために音を置いて

何らかの媒介性が発動するかどうかを　全く期待せず遂行する、と言うことかな...？
